lights, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, wandering dogs, and plenty of
southern hospitality...Welcome to Oriental, NC.
Otherwise
known as the Sailing Capital of North Carolina, Oriental is located near
the mouth of the Neuse River on the IntraCoastal Waterway. For the outdoorsy
type, this small waterfront town offers sailing, kayaking, fishing,
cycling, and much more. No luck fishing? No problem! There are plenty
of places to buy fresh shrimp, fish, & crabs.
Oriental
is also home to many artists; from painting to ceramics, photography,
jewelery, and sculptures, you can find it here...or maybe our quaint little
town will inspire the artist in you!
Although bedtime is fairly early, there are activities in the evening. For dinner, try one of our several restaurants. In town at the "Old Theater" or nearby, you will find performing arts and musical acts. Be sure to stop by The Bean for a gourmet cappuccino or glass of wine after dinner or after the show!
